Borage...you can steam the young leaves and in France they candy the flowers and use them in confections and on pastries. We just pick the flowers and use them in salads. They taste like cucumbers. When the plants are young and green they are pretty but when they start to age they are very ratty looking and they will self sow prolifically. The bees love them.
As for the bug, I hate to be un zen like but I squish those bugs. They are voracious. You can almost hear them chewing. They are especially fond of all my favorite blooms.

We grew borage last year and it got so HUGE that we actually had to remove it from the garden! I clearly had not alloted it the space it needed. Lesson learned! I'll grow it again though. I love its blue flowers. I love all blue flowers...
