New-ish Fall colors

In the early fall, when color in the garden is waning-- one solution: buy some.

At the end of summer, I realized I just really missed visiting nursuries, and acquiring little bits o' beauty. Here are some fairly recent arrivals to our yard.

1. Caryopteris incana
“Bluebeard” via Annie's Annuals

2. a low-growing teucrium (I've had great luck with the bush forms)

3. Lantana, though I don't think these survive the winter here...

4. Verbascum!

Lovely color on that Verbascum! What is the purple blooming plant in the first photo?

Which verbascum is that? The color is WONDERFUL! I've always wanted 'Caribbean Crush' but never seem to get around to getting it. This one is a winner, too, so if you know the cultivar, please please tell us!

Hi Connie-- & ?
(someone else asked about that verbascum-- but darned if I know where that comment went) I've added the name for the purple bloomer-- but the verbascum--? I'm trying to get better at hanging onto those little plant tags-- throw them all in the same drawer or something, but I can't turn it up.
It is quite a beautiful color in person, though! Maybe I'll be able to collect seeds.

Lisabee...it was me, and I know what you mean about the comment. I just NOW got notification of my comment and I know I left it at least a couple of days ago! Blogger has been very weird lately.
