Painting Students in the Park

Yes, yesterday was my first day out on location with the landscape painting class I'm teaching... and it was a hot one! (at left: John painting; below paintings by Don, left, & Valerie, right). In spite of near 90 degree heat, and Labor day weekend, most of the 30 students were there for most of the 7 hour day.

They're off to a fine start. And below, in keeping with our morning lesson (a value-based painting, in black & white) some of the photos I took have been converted in I-photo to black & white. We were in The Laguna Wetlands Preserve, in Sebastopol.
