lavender in bloom!

It's that time of year, the height of the lavender bloom at Matanzas Creek Winery (their phone message says the harvest has begun and will proceed gradually through July, so the time to go is now!)
I wrote about the lavender when I first visited 2 years ago.
Yesterday, we took a small picnic & some wine-- (that's my painting on the delicious bottle of Eric Kent Chardonnay!) early evening when the shadows were long, and it was glorious.

Oh my goodness... that field of lavender is somewhat like my idea of heaven! I keep thinking that I need to plant a whole hedge of lavender up the side of my driveway, and now I'm even more motivated to get that planted yet this year.

CONGRATS on getting your painting featured on a bottle of wine! (And congrats to the winery for having such good taste in artwork!) :)

Where can we get a print of those pictures??? That is just about the most beautiful photo I have ever seen!

May I have permission to copy the two photos of the lavender. I would love to frame them for my kitchen? If not, I will just enjoy the view from here. Thanks for sharing. Just beautiful!
